Le Moulin de Lantouy
Holiday cottages in the Lot Valley, SW France.
Le Moulin de Lantouy is an old watermill with converted mill buildings set in woodlands and meadows of approximately 10 acres in a peaceful valley. The Lantouy river, whose source lies about 1 km away in woodlands, flows through the grounds. All gites provide privacy whilst enjoying the abundance of nature all around and all have access to the river Lantouy & the river Lot.
The gites provide modern comfortable living in traditional centuries-old buildings which comprise the main watermill, miller’s cottage, a barn and a small watermill on its own island.
The riverside village of Cajarc is two kilometres away and offers such amenities as restaurants, cafés, grocers, bakers, butchers, pharmacy, a tourist office and a weekly local market. The towns of Figeac, Villefranche de Rouergue and Cahors are within easy reach by car.
Our letting season is mid-March to early November. We do get enquiries for Christmas and over winter , but we feel the Mill needs a break from all the activity, to breathe, to have a period of calm.
We have become known by the cave diving community who take advantage of the Mill's proximity to some of the underground water courses nearby. There is a bespoke dive hut in the parking area where divers can off-load their gear for storage, charge their bottles, as well as dry their suits.
Today we get guests from Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Slovakia, Russia, Great Britain....to name a few. Many of our guests make return visits. Our clients are a mix of divers, holiday makers and retirees travelling in Europe.
We purchased the property seventeen years ago. It provides a good income in a wonderful environment and we have put a lot of hard work into it over the years, but other interests are now more pressing and the time has come to move on. It is intended that any new owner would be able to take on the property from the end of the 2019 season.
